Ways to Volunteer
There are many, many ways that you can become involved
with Girl Scouts! Whether you are interested in working with girls or
working with adults, we have opportunities for you!
Working with Girls
If you are able to dedicate time to work with girls on an ongoing basis,
you might consider the following positions:
Leader - Primary planning and leadership for a group of girls.
Co-Leader - Part of leadership team that works with a specific group.
If, however, you are interested in shorter
term positions or positions
with occasional responsibilities, you might consider one of these positions:
First Aider - Requires American Red Cross training.
Temporary Volunteer - A short-term position involving leading, assisting
with, or chaperoning girls with regard to a specific program or project
Working with Adults
If you are interested in working with adults, you can volunteer in your
local community:
Service Unit Member -
Registrar - Coordinates registration of girls and adults as members
of Girl Scouts of the USA. The registrar receives all registrations,
makes
deposits, records information for service unit records, and forwards
the forms to Girl Scouts – Heart of Missouri Council for processing.
Cookie Station Manager - Responsible for the administration and coordination
of the cookie program activity in the service unit. Provides support
to group cookie managers, compiles the cookie orders, and coordinates
delivery and site activities.
Council-Wide Opportunities
Council-wide opportunities are also available:
Trainers - Teach other adult volunteers specific topics / training programs
Committee Members - Special council committees that deal with a variety
of Girl Scout-related issues
